DP07-006 |
Partial amphora, with top shoulder, neck, rim and handles missing. The body is cylindrical in the upper half, but in the bottom half tapers to a much smaller cylinder before coming to a rounded point at the foot. The fabric appears dark-red/brown in camera light. Ribbing on the surface is made apparent by calcareous shells in the grooves. Initial impressions of origin include Persian, LR African, or LR Levantine, however, additional research is required to make a more definitive identification.
