Located by farmers buried in a coconut grove in the southern Indian state of Kerali, this thousand year old craft was India’s first report ancient hull. Archaeologically excavated in 2003 and studied by INA research associated Ralph K. Pedersen, Ph.D., the craft dates to somewhere between Ad 920 and 1270. Predating European entry into the Indian Ocean, the Kadakkarapally Boat is a unique and significant craft.
